Information on the Badminton Victoria Junior Performance Program for 2026
Training Schedule Update:
- Weekly Training: All training sessions will take place on Tuesday nights.
- Alternating Age Groups:
- Week 1: 13-15 Age Group
- Week 2: 17-19 Age Group
- This pattern will alternate weekly.
Purpose:
To enable to best young players in the state to come and train together in a high performance environment. Following the Badminton Australia pathway Badminton Victoria aims to help our players progress to the highest level.
Additional Notes:
- Squad sizes may increase/decrease depending on the number of selected submissions and coaching capacity.
Example Schedule:
- Week 1 (Tuesday): 13-15 Age Group
- Week 2 (Tuesday): 17-19 Age Group
- Week 3 (Tuesday): 13-15 Age Group
- Week 4 (Tuesday): 17-19 Age Group
If selected for the Performance Program, players agree to the following:
- Training Attendance:
- Attend All Junior Training sessions, unless an exemption has been approved prior. These sessions are to be held at MSAC on Tuesday nights from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM every second week during school terms.
- Mandatory Tournaments:
- Enter and play in all Junior Circuit events relevant to the player’s age group. These tournaments are mandatory unless an exemption is approved.
- State Titles:
- Enter and play in the relevant age group State Titles, with exemptions granted only for bereavement or illness.
- National Championships:
- Enter and play in the relevant National Championships, regardless of selection or non-selection into State Teams.
- Official Program Apparel:
- Players selected for the program will gain access to the BV S-Trend shop, where they can purchase official BV Performance Program apparel.

Cost: 2026 - $330 for the year.
