The Australian Junior International is a major international event for junior shuttlers in Australia and the Oceania region. The badminton tournament takes place from Thursday 29th August – Sunday 1st September 2019 at the Altona Badminton Centre; hosted by the Western Suburbs Badminton Association Inc in partnership with Badminton Australia and Badminton Oceania, .
The event schedule where volunteers are required are:
Thursday 29th August (2:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
Friday 30th August (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Saturday 31st August (10:00 AM – 1:30 PM) - Quarter-Finals
Saturday 31st August (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM) - Semi-Finals
Sunday 1st September (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM) - Finals
Volunteers are required to attend a briefing 1 hour before the start of their shift.
The volunteer roles available are:
Data Entry Personnel
As the event will be streamed LIVE online, two people at all times to be keying in scores for the livestream score display. Volunteers are required for 3-4 hour shifts.
Photographers must be able to take sport action photos. Photographers are not required for the entirety of the event days, however they will need to share the photos taken with Badminton Oceania for use in their regular media and communications.
A mini-bus driver will be required occasionally throughout the event. Regular licence holders are suitable for this role. A copy of the Drivers Licence must be provided to the host association for insurance purposes.
