International Umpire Opportunities in Australia - August 2019
Updated: Nov 21, 2019

Australia is hosting four (4) international badminton tournaments in four weeks during late August to September. These events provide an excellent opportunity for Australian Umpires and Line Judges to be able to officiate at such high level level competition while keeping close to home! Particularly in light of the qualification season for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the international badminton events are bound to attract some of the best athletes in the world.
With the introduction of fixed height service Badminton World Federation (BWF) rule in 2019, every international match now needs an umpire and service judge, resulting in double the number of umpires required for each event.
As a result, we invite as many accredited umpires (and line judges) to consider taking up the upcoming opportunities throughout Australia, and join a global badminton community who are as passionate about the sport as you!
