Welcoming Our New President
Following the 92nd Annual General Meeting, Badminton Victoria is pleased to officially welcome Joseph Yeung as our new President, along with several newly appointed Board members.
Joseph takes on the role after the steady and dedicated leadership of Ms. Rochelle Liyanage, who concluded her service on the Board after 12 years, including six as President. Her contributions have helped shape the direction of the organisation and laid a strong foundation for the years ahead.
In his first message to the wider community, Joseph shared
"It’s a real privilege to step into this role, especially following the steady leadership of Rochelle, the Board, and our staff team. Badminton Victoria is in a strong place, and our commitment to member clubs, players, and volunteers remains a top priority. Over the next few months, I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and exploring where we can sharpen our focus, whether that’s in growing participation, supporting the junior pathway, or simply making the sport more visible and accessible to more people."
CEO Clint Proctor also welcomed Joseph into the role, saying:
"We’re privileged to welcome Joseph as our incoming President. His calm leadership, thoughtful approach, and steady presence will provide a strong foundation for everyone to thrive. Joseph’s ability to bring people together, listen deeply, and lead with integrity makes him the ideal person to guide us through the next chapter of growth and opportunity."
Board Appointments
As part of this year’s AGM, we welcome Dr Simon Lynch as a newly elected member of the Board. We also congratulate Narasimhan Ravi and Pierce Lucas on their reappointment. They will continue to serve alongside Jackie Cheuk and Cynthia Tam, who remain on the Board.
We extend our thanks to all Board members, past and present, for their ongoing commitment to growing and strengthening badminton across Victoria. With renewed leadership and a continued focus on community, Badminton Victoria looks forward to the year ahead and the work to come.
