Badminton Victoria (BV) brought back its signature partner event with Smash Tuesday at the Badminton Hall, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). The morning session brought together partners, sponsors, and board members for a friendly on-court competition alongside the Victorian State Team.
The event reflects BV’s ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships across the badminton community — building shared experiences both on and off the court.
Representatives from AIA Australia, Protech, Beyond Bank, and BVBN members joined State Team athletes in mixed teams to compete in a series of short matches, earning points throughout the morning. The format encouraged collaboration, light-hearted competition, and a deeper appreciation for the effort and dedication that drive Victoria’s high-performance programs.
BV CEO Clint Proctor said the initiative was designed to bring people together and celebrate the community behind the sport.
“The idea behind this event is simple – to connect our partners, support each other, and strengthen the link between our athletes, clubs, and partners,” he said.
“When we come together like this, everyone benefits, whether it’s through new relationships, shared insights, or simply understanding the hard work that goes on behind the scenes from our performance program.”
And of course, no badminton morning is complete without a bit of friendly competition. Congratulations to Team AIA Australia for taking home the Smash Tuesday Trophy — a well-deserved win and plenty of smiles all around.
BV extends its thanks to all partners and participants who took part in Smash Tuesday and contributed to making the event a success.
