Badminton Victoria congratulates Mr Ronald Richard Goudie on receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List for his outstanding service to the Horsham community.

Ron retired from badminton nearly 40 years ago but remains a respected figure in the sport. During his playing days, he served as President of the Horsham Badminton Association and played a key role in strengthening the local badminton community. Beyond badminton, Ron has held leadership roles in football and bowling clubs, participated in conservation efforts through Landcare, and contributed as president and auditor of the Wimmera Growers of Australian Plants.

The OAM is a fitting recognition of Ron’s decades of dedication to sport and community service. His legacy continues to inspire both within and beyond the badminton community in regional Victoria.
