These individauls are ready to inspire the next generation of players following the successful delivery of the BWF Shuttle Time Coaching Course at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Held on Sunday, June 28, from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm, the course brought together eight participants eager to learn how to introduce badminton to school students in a fun, safe, and inclusive way.
Shuttle Time is the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) global schools program, built on the core principle that children should lead healthy and active lives both in and out of school. By getting Shuttle Time accreditation, participants gain the vital skills, resources, and confidence needed to deliver high-quality badminton programs within the school system.
Led by BWF Shuttle Time Tutor Parisa Afshar, the comprehensive afternoon course combined interactive practical activities with structured coaching sessions. Throughout the day, the participants explored the official Shuttle Time framework, mastering fundamental badminton skills, simple games, and effective teaching methodologies.
A major focus of the training was learning how to easily adapt activities for students of different ages and abilities. The resources provided allow these individuals to deliver engaging sessions simultaneously to large groups of kids, ensuring every child stays active and involved.
By the conclusion of the course, all eight participants left equipped with the confidence and tools necessary to start teaching badminton immediately, ready to create enjoyable and positive sporting experiences for their future students.
