On Tuesday, 14 April 2026, Badminton Victoria attended the Australian Pride in Sport Awards held at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park. Marking its 10th anniversary, the event brought together national and state sporting organisations to recognise achievements in LGBTQ+ inclusion across the Australian sporting landscape.

Badminton Victoria was represented at the gala alongside Badminton Australia and members of the Melbourne Smashers, one of our affiliated member clubs.

The event highlighted the value of maintaining connections with our member clubs, such as the Melbourne Smashers, to better understand participant needs. By observing the work of leaders in the inclusion space, Badminton Victoria aims to ensure the sport stays accessible for all grassroots and competitive players.

We would like to thank Pride in Sport for hosting a significant night for the Australian sporting community and we look forward to applying these insights to our work throughout 2026.
