2019 Badminton Victoria Junior High Performance Camp

 

Badminton Victoria will be running a Junior High Performance Camp as parts of it's commitment to junior athlete development. Running from the 12th to 19th of January 2019, the camp is designed to compliment athlete development provided by metro and regional training academies. The program will include:

 

  • On-court training

  • Off-court strength and conditioning

  • Gym sessions and programs

  • Recovery sessions

  • Sports psychology development

  • Nutrition information

  • Cooking Session

  • Fitness testing

  • Advanced video analysis

  • Badminton discipline tactics

  • Knowledge for tournament preparation

  • Social activities

  • Sparring against senior Victorian and National representatives

  • Player welcome pack including Training Shirt and Drink Bottle

 

The camp will be based at Ballarat Grammar School where most of the training will take place and Athletes will be accommodated for with all meals provided for the duration of the camp. On-court training sessions will also take place at Maribyrnong Sports Academy. Players will be supervised at all times.

 

The all-inclusive cost for the camp will be $500.00 per athlete.

 

Selection for the Badminton Victoria Development Camp will be made by the Junior Selection Committee. Players applying for the camp are subject to the selection criteria below:

 

  • Players must be registered with Badminton Victoria.

  • Players must be 13 years of age or older and no older than 19 years old at the time of the camp.

  • Players must have made themselves available for state team selection during 2018.


Interstate players are welcome to apply to participate in the Badminton Victoria JuniorHigh Performance Camp. Due to the BV subsidy provided, the cost for interstate players will be $650.00 for the camp. Interstate players are responsible for organising their flights; however, airport pick up and delivery can be organised which will also incur an additional cost.

 

Participation and results from junior tournaments and carnivals in 2018 may be taken into account; however, neither results nor Victorian representation will guarantee selection for this camp. If you do not meet the criteria and would like to apply for an exemption, please contact the Chair of the Junior Section Committee (gillianbv64@gmail.com).

Includes training, accommodation, all meals, Welcome pack (training t-shirt and drink bottle), and adult supervision at all times -

$500 for Victorian athletes (includes BV subsidy)

$650 for Interstate athletes*


*Interstate Players are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses. However,  BV can organise airport pick-up and drop-off at an additional cost.​
