BA Foundation Coaching Course

Upon completion of the course, candidates will become a nationally recognised accredited BA Foundation Coach. Accreditation permits the coach to coach in club, community, school and private sectors. For people who gain this accreditation, and who are members of a Badminton Victoria affiliated club, you will be able to create an online profile on our 'Coach Finder' page on our website.

What is involved?

1. Completion of the following online modules pre-course (only complete these if accepted into the course):
   • Have done the online course material from the BA website (below link takes you to the BA website where cost for the online module is also indicated. The cost, which is additional to the practical course fee, includes registration as a coach upon completion of the online module and practical component. https://badmintonaustralia.thinkific.com/courses/foundation-coaching
   • Be prepared to register online as a coach once deemed competent
   • Have completed a lesson plan after completing the online foundation course, they will be asked to deliver during the course and so need to be prepared.
   • Complete the Sport Australia General Coaching Principles modules

   • Complete the Sport Australia Play by the Rules - Child Protection module (https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/login/index.php)
   • Complete the Sport Australia Play by the Rules - Harassment and Discrimination module https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/login/index.php
2. Attend practical course session (as per time and location indicated on this page)
3. Provide valid Working With Children Check
