The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has made amendments to the Laws of Badminton and Regulations. Some of the amendments have come into effect immediately and some will be effective in 2018.
The ammendments will affect all sanctioned events - including tournaments sanctioned by Badminton Australia and Badminton Victoria - to the extent referred in the tournament rules and regulations for each event:
Some of the amendments come into effect immediately, and others will come into effect on 1 January 2018.
The updated regulations that come into effect immediately, have been published on the BWF’s corporate website.
For those coming into effect on 1 January 2018, please see the BWF announcement for more information.
BWF Council has decided that there will be a trial of a fixed service height Law at all BWF Grade 1 (BWF Major Events except Junior Tournaments), BWF Grade 2 Tournaments (Levels 1-6), and Continental Confederation Championships from 1 March 2018 to the end of the year. Grade 3 Tournaments will not test the fixed service height law at this time.
