Baton Bearers for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

Victorians and previous Australian Team Members Peter Blackburn, Rhonda Cator and Michael Scandolera are Queen's Baton Bearers for the upcoming Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games!
Congratulations to these outstanding members of the regional Victorian badminton ommunity!
About Peter Blackburn (pictured in feature image) Former Australian #1 ranked player Peter represented Australia on numerous occasions, receiving a record three bronze medals in the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Peter Blackburn also captained Australia's badminton team at the Atlanta Olympics.
Peter will be running his leg of the relay in his hometown of Ballarat on 13 February 2018.

About Rhonda Cator A previous national champion, Rhonda has also competed at five Commonwealth Games, winning 5 bronze medals as follows: the team event in the 1986 Commonwealth Games, in both the team event and mixed doubles at the 1994 Commonwealth Games and also in both the women’s teams event and mixed doubles at the Kuala Lumpur Games four years later.
Rhonda will be running her part of the relay in Shepparton on 14 February 2018.

About Michael Scandolera
Michael was the first Australian to win Gold in the Commonwealth Games Badminton Competition, championing the individual Mixed Doubles discipline with Audrey Tucker in 1986. He was also a national title holder in Mixed Doubles and competed at the 1982 and 1962 Commonwealth Games with the Australian Team.
Michael will run his section of the relay in Shepparton on 14 February 2018.
