This year, the Victorian Ladies Badminton Association Committee hosted the 2017 Atalanta Jamboree Ladies Badminton Championships at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). In its 35th year running, the event welcomed 82 competing teams, comprising a total of 430 participants competing over the six days.
It is eagerly anticipated by its wealth of loyal supporters. Remembering Betty Shaw
The Atalanta Jamboree Ladies are remembered Betty Shaw who passed away on 12 October 2017.
Betty Shaw was a long time player and member of the Ladies Badminton community in Victoria - in particular, with Mountain District Badminton Association Inc.
A Memorial book was made available for members of the Ladies Badminton community to contribute to during the event. In addition, a number of teams wore particular head or arm bands in honour of Betty Shaw.
