Victoria Rebels Edges Over to Win the Under 15 National Title!

Spectators were treated to a show-stopping round of matches in the Gold and Silver position finals of the 2017 LI-NING Val Nesbitt Trophy, the National Teams event for U15 in Australia. The finals featured our very own Victoria Rebels Under 15 State Team, who were up against local team, the Western Australia Wasps.
After matches in Girl's Doubles, Boy's Doubles, 2 Girl's Singles and 2 Boy's Singles, the Victoria Rebels were down in matches, 2-4. With only 2 more matches to go, the Victoria Rebels could not afford to lose a match, should they have a fighting chance at winning Gold.

In games however, Victoria held the lead of 10-8, securing GOLD position at the 2017 LI-NING Val Nesbitt Trophy.
Badminton Victoria wishes to congratulate the Victoria Rebels on their persistence and determination throughout the competition, as well as a congratulate the Western Australia Wasps on their competitive performance. In addition, an honourable mention goes to our Victoria Demons Under 15 State Team on finishing in 5th place at the 2017 LI-NING Val Nesbitt Trophy.

About the 2017 LI-NING Val Nesbitt Trophy
Hosted by Badminton Western Australia this year, the Val Nesbitt Trophy brings the best players under the age of 15, of every state and territory in the country to compete in the teams event. The team event runs in the lead up to the individuals tournament, the 2017 LI-NING Australian Under 15 Championships.
