Become a Badminton Coach

Coaching is a fun and rewarding way to get involved with badminton, develop yourself and contribute to your community.

​

As an accredited coach, you can build professional careers, coach in the local community or teach the sport at schools.

​

Whatever your coaching goals are, Badminton Victoria is invested in education for teaching and coaching practices that are informed, safe and engaging for our growing sport.

BWF Shuttle Time

An introductory course suited for teachers and grassroots level badminton coaches. No experience is required.

​

Course Fee:

$160 - Badminton Victoria Member

$230 - Non Badminton Victoria Member

Fee includes registration and accreditation fee with Badminton Australia

​

BWF Level 1

A thorough course conducted over two weekends - suited for academy coaches and those looking to extend their coaching knowledge with aspirations for state-level coaching

Course Fee:

$300 - Badminton Victoria Member

$350 - Non Badminton Victoria Member

Fee includes registration and accreditation fee with Badminton Australia

Sporting Schools

​

Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children's participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities.

 

Opportunities with  Sporting Schools include:

  • Belong to Australia’s largest ever sport participation program

  • Build relationships, establish new networks and gain community recognition

  • Gain access to a range of training and development opportunities

Victorian State Teams​

 

Badminton Victoria appoint coaches for our representative state teams. State Team Coaches facilitate training sessions and travel with the players for national championships.​

​

We have state teams for:

  • Open-level athletes

  • Under 19 athletes

  • Under 17 athletes

  • Under 15 athletes

  • Under 13 athletes

Other Programs and Projects

In collaboration with​ community partners, Badminton Victoria may facilitate badminton programs for various segments of the community.

​

Examples of programs and projects include:

  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities

  • Junior development

  • Para-Badminton development

  • Professional development in schools and educational institutes
